Every May since 1999, the Oak Park Arts District has put on the family-friendly spectacle, “What’s Blooming on Harrison” to celebrate spring, new life and the beautiful art created in our Village. For the Sweet 16 anniversary in 2015, the festival will include artist demonstrations, live music, dance performances, and an art fair featuring select guest artists and local craftspeople.
From 6-10 p.m. on Friday, May 15, the festival gets started with a very special Third Friday Gallery Walk. On Saturday, May 16, the event will take over Harrison Street, from Highland Avenue to Humphrey, with the art fair, Taylor Street Beer Garden, and family-oriented activities including children’s carnival, live music, dance, craft demonstrations and hands-on workshops. Saturday’s festivities run between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the art fair ending at 7 p.m.
The Arts District has been active on social media regarding the event and the excitement surrounding the festival’s milestone anniversary:

Oak Park has a proud tradition of quality art across several mediums, and this is a great opportunity to witness how the Village gained such a reputation.
