Bite Nite, the official kickoff to Foodie Fest, will take place on Friday, Jan. 29 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Nineteenth Century Club, located at 178 Forest Avenue in Oak Park. Attendees will be able to try small bites from 50 different local chefs, meet restaurant owners, learn recipes and more. Tickets are $30 per individual or $100 for a group of four; either option can be purchased through Eventbrite.
Foodie Fest will run from Jan. 28 to Feb. 11. Modeled after various “restaurant week” promotions that take place throughout the country, Foodie Fest features prix fixe menus, each with three items or courses. These meals are priced at $10, $20 or $30 depending on the restaurant, according to the OPRF Chamber of Commerce.
January and February are the coldest months of the year, making it difficult to organize events such as Oaktoberfest or the Summer Concert Series we enjoy in Scoville Park. As one of the few major events taking place in the winter, Bite Nite & Foodie Fest can be a viable excuse to get out of the house, sample new foods, and maybe even learn something.
As a means of creating interest in the community, Visit Oak Park created a promotional video for Bite Nite, which can be viewed here:
