Award-Winning Illustrator Will Visit Dole Branch Library
Illustrator Larry Day to give presentation for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Oak Park/Near-West Network

Come to the Dole Library at 255 Augusta Blvd. in Oak Park from 7-9 p.m. on Feb. 11 to see award-winning illustrator Larry Day present for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Oak Park/Near-West Network. This event is free and open to the public.

At this presentation, Larry will focus on how he approaches a manuscript, his interactions with the editor, art director and author, how he develops characters and settings, and how much time illustrating a single manuscript can take.

Larry has illustrated historical non-fiction and humorous picture books, storyboards for Hallmark and Disney, and many other books geared towards children. He is the recipient of the 2007 Golden Kite Award for best picture book illustration for “Not Afraid of Dogs”. And he received three gold medals for art direction from the Society of Illustrators in 2006. To learn more about Mr. Day and his work, click here.
