5 best bars to watch the Blackhawks Playoff games

Alright, Blackhawks fans. It is officially time to change up the juju surrounding the team. After a tough 3-2 loss yesterday afternoon, our beloved defending Stanley Cup champions find themselves down two games to one against the dreaded St. Louis Blues, and we need to do whatever we can to help change the energy.

If you believe in hockey superstitions, do not shave your face and check out one of the following bars to watch the games. Pro tip: if you were at one of the following bars for Games 1 and 3, the two games the Hawks lost in this series, try a different one on the list.

Game 4: Tuesday, April 19 @ 8:30 p.m.
Game 5: Thursday, April 21 @ 8:30 p.m.
Game 6: Saturday, April 23 @ TBD.
Game 7: Monday, April 24 @ TBD.

Bar Louie is the spot to go for Tuesday’s game if you are hungry; the restaurant will be offering $1 burgers with the purchase of a drink. If you plan on coming with a full stomach, you might want to wait until Game 5 to take advantage of the Thirsty Thursday deal with $5.25 martinis served the entire day.

Chalk’s patio is open for the  spring season and they will have the game on the outdoor televisions. Menu items include fish tacos amongst other finger food items that each cost $5. Drink specials include $5 Beer n’ Bourbon, Bloodies, Bellinis, and Mimosas, and $12 domestic buckets. Besides the specials, Ave Ale House has over 100 varieties of beer to choose from.

Sláinte has some of the best prices in the area. The bar will feature $2.75 domestic bottles, $10 domestic buckets, $4 bomb shots, $5 Bloodies, and $5 burger with fries. I highly recommend this place if you are trying to enjoy some playoff hockey on a budget. It’s an added bonus if you appreciate the ambiance of a traditional Irish pub. Cheers, or should I say “Sláinte,” the Gaelic translation for “To good health.”
