Oak Park-River Forest High School announced that four of its seniors have been named Posse Scholars and will receive full-tuition scholarships to different universities next year.
Aaliyah Brown will attend Cornell University, Ev Berger-Wolf and Evan Kelly will attend Middlebury College, and Mariama Sidime will attend Pomona College.
“I feel really proud to represent my school and my community, and go to a really prestigious college,” said Brown. “I know everyone in the program will do really great things.”
The Posse Scholarship Foundation began in 1989. The selection process to be considered a potential award winner includes being nominated by your school and evaluations that measure the students’ leadership skills, teamwork, and desire for success.
“It’s super rewarding, but you go through a lot,” said Wolf. “It’s very long, there’s a lot of waiting, but you learn a lot throughout, you meet a lot of really cool people, and it’s definitely worth it.”
This is the highest number of scholarships the high school has ever had for a single graduating class.
