A Day in Our Village is returning Sunday, June 5 for its 43rd year. Taking place at both Scoville Park (Lake St. & Oak Park Ave.) and Rehm Park (615 Garfield St.), the annual family-friendly event serves as one of the biggest celebrations in the community, hence the need for two venues.
There will be roughly 140-150 information booths set up in Scoville Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. These exhibitors will primarily consist of local civic, cultural, social service, educational, religious and business organizations. Additionally, a charity dunk tank will be operating from noon to 3 p.m. All proceeds will benefit OPRF charities.
The festival planners figured people would be hungry with all this information and water dunking, so the park will feature a large food court serving a variety of fare from local restaurants. The Scoville Park Stage will also have live musical performances taking place throuhgout the day beginning with The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest.
.Rehm Park is where families with young ones might have the most fun. For $5 each, children will be allowed unlimited access to carnival games, an inflatable bounce house, obstacle course, and more. Food vendors will also be set up at Rehm Park, and a free shuttle service will operate between Scoville Park and Rehm Park from noon to 4 p.m.
