The 7th Annual Oak Park Earth Fest will take place Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Public Works Center, 201 South Blvd.
In honor of Earth Day, festival-goers will be able to sample several types of food from local vendors while learning about what it means to live in an environmentally friendly community like Oak Park. Admission to get into the Public Works Center is free, but the food vendors will be charging separately.
According to a news release from the Village, there will be information booths highlighting local environmental organizations and initiatives. In addition to the information booths, there will also be recycling centers for eyeglasses, sunglasses, hearing aids, rechargeable batteries, cell phones and old blue jeans.
Food vendors at this year’s event include Happy Lobster, Yum Dum, Cupcakes for Courage, and Grill Chasers. Sponsors include Waste Management, Terra Engineering, and Green Home Experts.
If you plan on attending the event with the family, there will be games and activities planned for young children. For more information on the event, call 708-358-5700.
