The Uncork Illinois Wine Festival returns for its seventh year on Saturday, June 16, from 1-9 p.m. in Downtown Oak Park on Marion St. between Lake and North. Tickets are $25 and must be bought with cash; no debit or credit cards will be accepted as a form of payment.
Roughly 15 local wineries will provide patrons with the opportunity to sample over 150 different wines along with locally produced artisan foods. There will also be three live music acts consisting of Greg Dudzienski Duo from 1-3:30 p.m., Rose Colella Trio from 4-6 p.m., and Sharel Cassity Trio from 6:30-9 p.m.
A ticket purchase includes a souvenir glass and seven tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets cost $1 each so long as you have a souvenir glass in-hand.
There will be two entrances located at Lake St. & Marion St., and North Blvd. & Marion St. You must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol – a driver’s license or state ID will be required at check-in, according to downtownoakpark.net.
All festival goers are encouraged to take public transportation or plan for a designated driver. The CTA Green Line and Metra are both located at the intersection of Marion St. and North Blvd.
If you are interested in volunteering at the event, contact Joanna Skubish at email@example.com or visit signup.com. All volunteers will receive a Sarah’s Inn t-shirt, and volunteers 21 and over will receive an Uncork Illinois wine glass and eight complimentary wine tasting tickets.
