Artists interested in showcasing their art for the 5th Annual Oak Park Sculpture Walk will have until Monday, April 25 to put the finishing touches on their work with the hopes that they will be chosen for one of the village’s most beloved art displays.
All participating artists will receive an honorarium of $2,000, according to a news release from the village.
The 5th Annual Oak Park Sculpture Walk will feature sculptures from various artists as a part of the outdoor exhibit in the Park District of Oak Park’s Mills Park and the work will also be shown at Pleasant and Home Avenues. The walking tour will be open for public viewing from June 5 to Sept. 5.
Last year, 62 entries were received for the walking tour, but only 12 were chosen given the limited number of spaces available to display the art. “I think it’s the quality of the art and the settings that make it so popular,” said Bill Greffin, chairman of the Oak Park Public Art Advisory Commission.
