Oak Park School District 97 has begun its search for a new assistant superintendent for finance and operations following the resignation of Dr. Alicia Evans, who will serve her last day on June 30, 2018.
“In terms of hiring Alicia’s replacement, those efforts will begin immediately, and will be carried out with the assistance of a search firm and our administrative leadership team,” said Superintendent Carol Kelley. “We will keep the community updated on the status of our search, and appreciate everyone’s continued support of our schools and the children we serve.”
Evans, who was hired in March 2016, handed in her resignation at the board meeting on Friday, Dec. 15. She made significant contributions in her time with District 97, and plans to make the most of her remaining six months to set up her replacement for success.
“Alicia has been a vital and valuable member of our district for the past two years,” said Kelley. “Her leadership was particularly critical to the successful passage of our recent referenda, and her knowledge and expertise have helped strengthen our short- and long-term financial future.”
Evans accepted the position of assistant superintendent of business operations in a south suburban school district and will begin in the fall of 2018.
