Now in its seventh year, the Oak Park Sculpture Walk returns Saturday, May 19, with 12 new sculptures.
The Sculpture Walk is a free, self-guided tour of various art pieces created by local and out of state artists. This year, the walking tour is located in the Southtown Business District along Oak Park Avenue between Lexington Street and Van Buren Street.
Visitors are able to download a free app called Otocast on their smartphones to access information about the sculptures and hear descriptions of the work dictated by the artists, according to a news release from the Village of Oak Park.
The walking tour will be open for public viewing until Tuesday, Sept. 4.
It will be well-worth your time to view the sculptures before the summer is over. Think of it as another benefit of living life as an Oak Parker!
