Dr. Joshua Blomgren, a graduate from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and Oak Park native, has been named the new team physician for the Chicago Fire, according to the Tribune.
Dr. Blomgren has been working with the club’s athletic training staff since the start of the season and he holds an impressive resume in the world of sports medicine. He has spent time as a physician for the Chicago White Sox and Bank of America Chicago Marathon for the past several years.
The Midwest Orthopedics at Rush website writes, “His practice provides osteopathic manipulation, joint and musculoskeletal injections, fracture care, concussion management, compartment pressure testing, sports dermatology and sports physicals.
