The Oak Park Public Library’s (OPPL) Maze Branch, 845 Gunderson Avenue, will be closed from Feb. 29 to March 14 in order to repair its lower level floor. The project is necessary to provide safety for tiles near the base of the steps and public restrooms damaged by flooding last year, according to Assistant Director Jim Madigan.
“The current floor has deteriorated at the seams in the most-used areas,” said Madigan. “We will be putting down new flooring in sheets to reduce the number of seams to extend the life of the floor.”
They expect to reopen the library by March 14 and conduct the election the following day, according to Madigan. Voters will be able to vote at the Maze Branch on March 15.
Visitors are encouraged to use the Library’s Main Branch on 834 Lake St. or its Dole Branch on 255 Augusta St. during the closure.
