The OPRF Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at FOSS Swim School on Friday, Feb. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to noon.
[UPDATE Feb. 9: ribbon-cutting ceremony postponed to Friday, Feb. 23 due to a winter storm warning]
FOSS is a Minnesota-based swim instruction school with 100,000 program graduates, 80,000 active students, and claims to be able to teach any child how to successfully swim. The organization has 13 total locations, all of which are family owned and operated.
Classes are split up into five age groups: six to 36 months, three to five years, five to seven years, seven to 10 years, 10 to 13 years, and over 13 years. Rates vary in prices of $22.50 per group lesson, $45 per semi-private lesson, and $80 per private lesson.
“[The owner] is so welcoming and knows little tricks that help every kid participate and succeed,” said the parents of a child enrolled in the three to five years age group.
“FOSS Swim School is excited to offer Oak Park and River Forest families the ultimate learn to swim experience,” said Site Director Casey Fogerty. “Our unique approach focuses on laughter, learning, confidence, and mastery.”
The newest FOSS Swim School is located at 1850 N. Harlem Ave., Suite 100, Elmwood Park, IL 60707. For more information or to sign up for classes, visit fossswimschool.com.
