Steven Isoye has announced his resignation as superintendent of Oak Park and Forest High School. He will serve as the school’s ‘interim superintendent’ until the end of the 2016 school year.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have served on the board of education and Oak Park and River Forest High School for the past six years,” said Isoye. “I have had the opportunity to work with 16 board members during that time. All 16 have had an incredible commitment to the students, school, and community. In addition to the board, I have had the opportunity to work with truly dedicated faculty, staff and students. I appreciate everything I have learned from the communities of Oak Park and River Forest.”

Isoye will embark on a new journey as the superintendent of Niles Township High School District 219, beginning July 1. The Niles 19 board approved Isoye as their new superintendent in a May 19 boarding meeting. His contract is effective through June 2019.

OPRF board president Jeff Weissglass expressed his gratefulness to have worked alongside Isoye over the last six years. “His commitment to our students has been unwavering, striving for both excellence and equity, which is at the heart of our mission. I wish him all the best in his work at Niles,” he said.

For the time being, the District 200 school board is still deciding whether or not to hire an interim superintendent for the 2016-17 school year.
