Parents of aspiring Oak Park basketball players can now register their kids for the Police Department’s free summer camp taking place July 23-27 at Brooks Middle School, 325 S. Kenilworth Ave.
The summer basketball camp is open to Oak Park boys and girls aged 8-14. It is run by officers of the Oak Park Police Department who coordinate drills, group instruction, one-on-one contests, full-court scrimmages, and more to hone the basketball skills of our Village’s youth in a fun atmosphere.
Camp is broken out into two age groups: 8-10 and 11-14. The younger group will meet from 8-11 a.m. and the older group will utilize the court from Noon to 3 p.m. The camp will run Monday, July 23 through Friday, July 27.
Registration can be done online by completing the flyer found at oak-parkpolice.us. Additionally, parents have the option of completing the application in-person at 123 Madison Street in the lower level of Village Hall.
Often times, parents search for ideas on how to get their children involved in healthy activities during summer vacation away from classes. This free basketball camp may just be the answer for the last week of July.
Since this is a free camp, registration is expected to fill up quickly. For more information, call 708-358-5519 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
