Cold weather…check. Decorations and Christmas trees…check. Christmas music on the radio…check. It must be time for Santa to come to town!
This year the CTA holiday train, decked out in thousands of twinkling lights, will be arriving in Oak Park to start off the season. The holiday train which supports the CTA in its charity food drive. The agency will deliver over 300 food baskets to 22 communities, which it has been doing for over 20 years. The train will be on the green line tracks starting Friday, November 28th until Sunday, November 30th. Santa will be on the train for photo opportunities on Saturday, between 1p.m. to 8p.m. For more information visit the CTA website.
Another great opportunity to get a picture with Santa will be Santa Saturdays in Scoville Square. Santa will arrive on Friday, November 28th between 6p.m. and 7p.m. to help light the Christmas Tree in the square, near the corner of Lake and Oak Park. You can meet with Santa every Saturday after that before Christmas between noon and 3p.m. Additional details including the Santa Express Mailbox and the Holiday Magic and Puppet Show can be found at this site (http://www.stageritebydeb.com/index.php/projects/santa-saturdays)
With all of his time spent in Oak Park, I hope Santa still has time to deliver all those presents!
