For the second consecutive month, the thirteenth falls on a Friday. That means the superstitious types are avoiding black cats, mirrors and cracks in the pavement. If I had to guess, the overly cautious ones are hiding indoors to dodge the bad juju altogether. Given that temperatures are in the 60’s today, I hope they at least open a window to let some fresh air in. Oh, wait. There might be a face in the window; best to keep the blinds shut.

I enjoy stories like the legend of “Friday the Thirteenth” as much as the next one, but I don’t let it get in the way of my day. If you’re reading this, I’m assuming you won’t either. On the contrary, you probably came here to get some ideas on what to do this weekend. My first suggestion-

Go outside! Have you seen what the weather will be like all weekend? Throw a Frisbee around. Take your dog for a longer walk. Take your cat for a walk if you don’t have a dog. Just get out there and enjoy the warmer air.

Did you see that “Local Pollen Alert?” Yeah, I don’t care either.

In addition to the weather, here are some events taking place in the neighborhood this weekend:
