Summer makes it easier for everyone to get out of the house. The nice weather means outdoor events and more people buzzing around the neighborhood. While I like to see the good in things, especially summer, it’s also a good idea to keep up with the news and realize that there are still bad eggs that are also happy to be outside this time of year.

This past weekend, we learned about our first shooting of the year which took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 28 near the Oak Park Blue Line station. I bring this up because as nice as it is to enjoy the season, it’s always a good idea to be smart and be aware of what’s happening around you. Be safe when you’re out this weekend!
