5th Annual Future Philanthropists Program Commencement

Dominican University will host the 5th Annual Future Philanthropists Program Grants Award Ceremony and Commencement on Monday, May 18 at 6 p.m. The Future Philanthropists Program teaches students the business of philanthropy and the art of giving back in a sustainable way.

High school juniors from OPRF District #200, Trinity High School, and Fenwick High School give grants based on their review of proposals submitted by local social impact organizations. The list of Junior students that are giving a total of $25,000 in grants are as follows:

Audrey Angelos, Vera Beilinson, Joshua Block, Sierra Brown, Nakisa Dashti, Erin Dunn, Francesca Gillis, Alexa Gillman, Penny Hawthorne, Tommy Healy, Maya Korenich, Meghna Kuriakos, Eva Latz, Nicole Neyenesch, Demitra Philosophos, Emma Sanye, Alec Seavey, Lindsey Sloan, Maura Smith, Gavin Sorenson, Isaac Stopeck, Jabari Ware, Simone Watts, and Amanda Youman.

Seniors re-visit the organizations they funded when they were Juniors, and assess how well the grant money was used. The list of seniors that will be recognized are as follows:

Jana Barber, Maeve Bowling, Claire Carey, Karina Donayre, Eric Frost, Sam Ginn, Maggie Healey, Joe Kassel, Maille O’Donnell, Abigail Pont, Carter Rayburn, Charlie Rhomberg, Anna Rossa, Peter Salvino, Kennedy Sapp, Emily Schreck, Emma Seavey, Remington Sheehan, and Maya Valderrama.

All proceeds are put back into the Future Philanthropist Fund at the OPRF Community Foundation to help grow and maintain the grant-making by the next group of juniors the following year.
