District 97 seeks community input for improving schools

Oak Park Elementary School District 97 will be hosting a series of community conversations regarding the development of a collective vision that will shape the future of District 97 schools and contribute to the success of the students.

Community members are invited to actively participate in the creation of a shared vision for the district to help identify what it will take to reach that vision from the district’s current state.

Over the last several months, District 97 Superintendent Carol Kelley has met with a number of stakeholders (educators, students, families, Oak Park residents, etc.) in an effort to better understand their perspectives on the needs and interests of the district.

After numerous meetings, Kelley has firmly heard that District 97 needs a strong vision for where it is going and a plan for getting there. The district believes that having the community engaged in this process is imperative for achieving district goals.

The community conversation sessions with District 97 students, faculty and staff will take place during the week after school has dismissed for the day. The dates, times and locations for the sessions with District 97 families and community members are:

  • Saturday, April 16: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. à Oak Park Public Library (OPPL) Main Branch, Veteran’s Room
