Oak Park police officers responded to a home invasion call at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday. The officers assisted a 27-year-old female who was assaulted and robbed at her home on the 1000 block of S. Oak Park Ave, according to a report from the Village.

The investigation of the incident is ongoing and the police department is requesting assistance from anyone who might have information about the suspect.

“Given the time of day and location, someone may have seen the assailant whether they know it or not,” said Police Chief Rick Tanksley. “That’s why we are urging everyone to think back to yesterday and try and recall anything or anyone that didn’t quite fit in with the rhythm of the neighborhood. Small details could be the key.”
