
A man was stabbed over a dozen times on the platform of the CTA Oak Park Blue Line station during the early morning hours of Sunday, June 17, according to the Oak Park Police Department.
The victim, a 39-year-old male resident of Chicago, was approached by a female carrying an unknown cutting instrument at roughly 1:47 a.m. Sunday on the CTA train platform. The attacker demanded money and when the victim refused, the instrument was used to stab and cut the man, who suffered over 12 lacerations and wounds, according to the police report.
Police say that the victim was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood to have his injuries treated. He has since been released from the hospital after being medically cleared to return home.
According to the report, the attacker is described as a black female standing 5’0″ tall with a shaved head. At the time of the attempted robbery, she was wearing a green baseball cap and dark clothing.
