Someone stole the soap & other weekend crime

Stolen Dove Soap
On Saturday afternoon, an offender identified to be in their 40’s wearing a black baseball hat, white shirt, and dark jeans managed to steal several boxes and bottles of Dove soap from a CVS pharmacy on the 300 block of Madison.  The estimated loss of the soap was $171.80.  The future cleanliness of the offender is  estimated to be priceless.      

Possession of controlled substance arrest
28-year-old Justin Combs was arrested and charged with the possession of heroin on the 100 block of Van Buren Friday afternoon.  The substance, as well as paraphernalia used to ingest the substance, was found in Combs’ possession by authorities.

Armed robbery
An offender described to be between the ages of 40 and 50 years of age, around 6-feet tall, and estimated to be 200 pounds, committed an armed robbery Sunday afternoon on the 1100 block of N. Austin.  The victim was asked by the offender for a cigarette lighter.  The offender then produced a semi-automatic pistol while ordering the victim to hand over money.  The offender, managing to escape with $100.00 from the victim, was last seen on Austin.

DUI arrest
21-year-old Richard Baker of the 4800 block of N. Mason in Chicago was arrested Friday night on the 1000 block of N. Oak Park for driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting arrest, according to authorities.

Car burglary
Offenders entered an unlocked 2010 Toyota Prius owned by an Oak Park resident on Friday evening at the 800 block of Lake.  The offenders managed to remove a Macintosh Airbook Laptop valued at $1200.00. 


All data has been compiled from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments. Anyone named in this report has been charged with a crime(s) but cases are still pending.
