BMX stunt cyclist Matt Wilhelm will be showing off his stunts and tricks while also giving a fun and educational program about bullying, bike safety, and character. The free event will take place from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at the River Forest Public Library, 735 Lathrop Ave.

Wilhelm has won three X Games medals, two national championships and a silver medal from the World Championships. He is known by many to be a semi-finalist on the sixth season of “America’s Got Talent” and is also known as the world’s fastest spinner on a BMX bike.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Millikin University, Wilhelm devotes himself fully to stunt cycling and spreading clear messages of perseverance and good character. He has traveled far and wide to share his craft, hitting up countries such as Japan, Korea, Brazil, and Portugal, just to name a few.

Wilhelm’s educational assembly program is one of the most popular programs in the country for young kids, speaking in a language that kids understand. Not that kids speak in a language most of us understand anyways, but beside the point. His encouraging messages of perseverance resonate to all he speaks to. He also talks about bullying, his own personal experiences with it, and how to overcome bullies and build good character.
