Tasty Dog has been ordered to vacate its village-owned property lot at 708 Lake St. no later than Monday, Aug. 10. The business owes over $40,000 in rent and fees, according to a report from the Pioneer Press.

“They’ve got until (Monday, Aug. 10),” said Village Attorney Paul Stephanides. “If they don’t vacate, it will go to trial.”

The two sides appeared in court on Monday, Aug. 3 when the village made its case that Tasty Dog has not paid $39,930 in rent, as well as $595.12 in penalty fees, according to the report.

A notice was sent to Tasty Dog Owner Michael Barton on May 12 that stated full payment was needed within 30 days otherwise the lease would be terminated. The business has remained open since the notice was given and remains open as of today.

The village and Tasty Dog will appear in court once again on Monday, Aug. 10 if the business does not leave the property by that time, according to Stephanides.
