Saturday December 13th

Cookies & Cocoa with Santa– Bring your camera and you kids for photos with Santa at the Nineteenth Century Club!  Enjoy cookies, cocoa, coloring, face painting, caroling, with gifts and craft displays for holiday shopping.  $15 for a family of 4, $5 for each additional person.  178 Forest Avenue in Oak Park. or 708.386.2729

Ballet Légere’s Nutcracker at Dominican University – Come see the longest running Nutcracker production in Chicagoland, celebrating their 30 year anniversary.  With a cast of 120, spectacular special effects and beautiful sets and costumes, you’re sure to love this performance.  There are multiple shows this weekend: Saturday at 2pm or 7pm, Sunday at 2pm.  Adults $25, children and seniors are $20.  There is a special backstage tour available following the 2pm Saturday matinée for $6. 35th Annual Cookie Walk – Purchase a Cookie Walk box and fill it up with delicious and festive home-baked goodies.  In additional to cookies, there will be a baked goods table, the Cookie Walk Raffle, and new this year, a photo opportunity for kids with the Cookie Walk Winter Wonderland Snowman.  Past raffle items have included iPods, Leap Frog electronic toys, gift cards, wine, art supplies, etc.  This event supports Pilgrim Community Nursery School.  9-11am in the PCNS gym 460 Lake Street, Oak Park. for more info.

Holiday Regency Ball in honor of Jane Austen’s birthday – Transport yourself back to the 19th century and dance as they did in Jane Austen’s time.  No partner or experience necessary, and all dances are taught and called.  Suggested donation is $10 for ages 18-64 and $5 for youth and seniors.  Held in the beautiful and history ballroom at the Nineteenth Century Club from 3-8pm at 178 Forest Avenue in Oak Park. or 708.386.2729
