Students in grades 5-8 are encouraged to participate in “Half-Day Pizza and Improv” at the River Forest Public Library from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13. Valentine’s Day dinner ideas for families
Buzz Café and Eastgate Café are each following a family theme for Valentine’s Day dinner on Saturday, Feb. 14. Buzz Café will feature an adult menu for $30 per plate and a kid’s menu priced at $15 per plate, and jazz music will be playing throughout the evening. The Szurko Trio will be providing music at Eastgate Café, which will also follow a family friendly environment.
“Movie Day” for children with special needs
Shriners Hospitals for Children will show “The SpongeBob Movie” at Lake Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon for children with special needs. Tickets are $6 at the door and popcorn and snacks will also be available for purchase. Lake Theatre is located at 1022 Lake St. in Oak Park.
Great Maze Branch Chili Cook-Off (Second Annual)
Entries are welcome for the second annual Great Maze Branch Chili Cook-Off taking place Sunday, Feb. 15 from 2-3 p.m. at the Oak Park Public Library, Maze Branch. Judges will be present and prizes will be awarded for the best-tasting chili in several categories. The Oak Park Public Library, Maze Branch is located at 845 S. Gunderson Ave. in Oak Park.
