Two Brothers Social Tap Closes Doors in Oak Park

After 16 months on Marion Street, the taproom is closing its doors

Two Brothers Social Tap closed its doors on September 19, marking the end to 16 months in the former Marion Street Market storefront.

The restaurant posted a sign on their doors and cited that their closure was  “due to recent changes related to state regulation of licensing for craft brewers and brewpubs.” The Social Tap did not brew beer on site, but served coffee, beer and upscale pub food.

Marion Street is no stranger to abrupt restaurant closings. Locally and family owned Connolly’s Public House was the last recent memory of a restaurant gone too soon.

The sign posted on the Two Brothers door reads, “We would like to thank all of you that gave us love, support and encouragement in the past 16 months. Two Brothers remains committed to brewing award-winning beer and providing the best in artisan fare. We’ll miss being part of the neighborhood and hope to see some familiar faces at one of our other locations.”
