Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is here. While I love a reason to celebrate just about anything, my plans this year are simple: a night at home with my husband and a festive chocolate strawberry pie from Spilt Milk. Dinner for Two
Maya Del Sol will have a special Valentine’s Day menu today from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. The menu for tonight includes four available courses with recommended bubbly to celebrate. Make a reservation (and look like you planned ahead) here.
Dinner with Family
Buzz Cafe is hosting a Family Dinner Night in celebration of the holiday. The cafe is serving a special kids’ menu along with their special adult menu so that no one is left out. Reservations are required for the family dinner, so make sure to call ahead and grab a spot! 708-660-0894
Dessert
Spilt Milk is offering up their usual assortment of delicious pies and baked goods, along with Valentine’s Day pies, heart cookies, and passionfruit caramels. The bakery is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. today so you have plenty of time to grab a sweet or two!
Flowers
Westgate Flower & Plant Shop has special arrangements that will earn you major brownie points. Pick up a bouquet of classic roses or a mix of colorful flowers for your loved one. They even offer same day delivery for orders placed by 3:00 p.m.
Dancing
The Park District of Oak Park and Oak Park Arms have teamed up to host a dance at the Oak Park Arms ballroom for the young at heart from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Freenotes Big Band will be playing and all donations will be going to the first ever senior friendly park in Oak Park.
Chocolates
La Maison de Bonbon on Madison Street in Forest Park has a wide selection of fine chocolates to satisfy your sweet tooth and delight your loved ones. The store is open from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. today. I recommend anything involving caramel.
