Fenwick’s girls basketball to play final ESCC game against Marian Catholic
The Friars will play its final conference game of the year this Saturday, Feb. 14 against rival Marian Catholic and the game holds special significance to former Fenwick guard Erin Power (class of 2007), the daughter of ESCC Hall of Fame coach Dave Power, the Chicago Tribune reports.

“We played Marian Catholic at Marian Catholic on their senior night,” Erin Power said, referring to her last season as a Friar in 2007. “It was a tall task with the East Suburban on the line. It was a highly touted game. It was supposed to be a close game, but we blew them out of the water.” The community is anxious to see what happens this year as the Friars look to close out a strong season.

OPRF girl basketball honors its graduating players on senior night
The Huskies fell 72-51 to Lyons on senior night but that didn’t stop Victoria Waters from making the most of her last opportunity in her home gym, the Pioneer Press reports. Waters, who has been coming off the bench, started and led the way with a team-high 12 points, including eight in the first quarter, according to the Pioneer Press.

OPRF boys swimming places third at WSC Silver meet
The Huskies’ 200-yard freestyle relay team placed third with a time of 1:30.55 at the Western Suburban Silver meet at York on Saturday, Feb. 7. Will McNeil led the team with a top individual time of 22.69 in the 50-yard freestyle, the Pioneer Press reports.

OPRF wrestling defends title
The defending Class 3A state champion Huskies will compete in the Glenbard North Sectional on Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14. Junior Allen Stallings will wrestle at the 220 pound weight class after re-aggravating a back injury, the Pioneer Press reports.
